ROC NATION AVIATOR'S
The Skullcandy Aviator headphones come with endorsement by Jay-Z's Roc Nation, and that's as close to musical greatness as they get. The stylish Roc Nation Aviator headphones reach beyond Skullcandy's tween demographic and bring a sophisticated look and detailed sound design to the mobile market. The Skullcandy Rocnation Aviators feature superb build quality, a trendy but not overstated aesthetic design, and open, detailed sound quality that will please rockers but leave bass-heads out in the cold.
These headphones are made predominately of metal and leatherette with comfy memory foam ear cushions and seem very durable. The stitching on the inside of the headband is a nice aesthetic touch, as are the subdued logo placements - on the inside of each ear cup and on the headband near the foldable hinges. The plastic shell on the outside is made of the same material used in sunglasses, an obvious testament to their Aviator inspired design.
BEATS BY DRE
In July 2008, Dr. Dre released his high-performance brand of headphones, Beats by Dr. Dre. The line consists of Beats Studio, a circumaural headphone, Beats Tour, an in-ear headphone, Beats Solo & Solo HD, a supra-aural headphone, Beats Spin, Heartbeats by Lady Gaga, also an in-ear headphone, and Diddy Beats.[95] The headphones are made by Monster.[96] He is also planning to release an "Aftermath Cognac and vodka" at around the same time he releases Detox.[97] For the 2009 Fall season, HP and Dr. Dre are teaming up to release Beats By Dr. Dre with the sale of all HP laptops and headsets.[98] HP and Dr. Dre announced the deal on October 9, 2009, at a press event in Santa Monica, California. The new laptop, known as HP ENVY 15 Beats limited edition, will be available for sale October 22 and be priced around R17 250.00. Besides the laptop, the PC comes with Dr. Dre's signature headphones. His main reason for creating the headsets is,
"People aren't hearing all the music.
Artists and producers work hard in the studio perfecting their sound. But people can't really hear it with normal headphones. Most headphones can't handle the bass, the detail, the dynamics. Bottom line, the music doesn't move you.
With Beats, people are going to hear what the artists hear, and listen to the music the way they should: the way I do." DR Dre
I am thorn between the two brands the "Aviators" scream swag from the get and then "Beats" are firm when it comes to quality. The question you need to ask yourself when you looking to buy headsets is, why are you buying the headsets? Are you looking for a good design? Or are you buying the quality of sound? Maybe you want both looks and quality then these two brands are where it’s at. If you seek outstanding quality sounding headsets with a slick futuristic design then the "Beats" are for you but if you looking for headsets that have outstanding steez and have relevant quality you would go for the Roc Nation Aviators. My personal opinion is, the quality of music cannot be compromised but the choice is still yours.
