DANKIE Pro

“For me rhyming goes beyond choosing a language I feel comfortable with. There are things you can loose when using vernacular yet there are things that sound right when using African languages”
—- Linda Mkhize

Pro has worked with various producers and rappers, including Dplanet, Amu, Nyambz, Omen and Draztik Dome. In 2007 Pro travelled to the Netherlands to record with Tripple & Touch, where he performed at many clubs in Amsterdam and performed with P. Diddy. He has also performed as an opening act for HipHop, Busta Rhymes, and 50 Cent. In 2006 he co-presented SABC1's dance show, Jika Ma Jika.
Pro is currently signed to T.S records even though the is speculation that he might sign with M.F.E which he owns. Flipside, a rap group which his brother is acquainted to, and Red Button, his protege, are currently some of the artists signed to the stable. He released a new single titled "20past10" which coincided with the single by his protege named "SHIKISHA".
He has collected numerous awards and nominations, with the HYPE awards being the most accolades he has collected throughout his career. His appeal to the entertainment industry has been limited due to his persona, which is highly influenced by his background and society around him. He has stayed loyal to his hometown always mentioning Soweto, Jabulani, Diepkloof and Klipspruit in his music. He also matriculated from Johannesburg Secondary School.

If S.A Hip-Hop was to crown its very own king of Hip-Hop without a shadow of doubt Pro would be King and if you had something to say about that please don’t put it in a verse it might get messy, he embodies what S.A Hip-Hop is about, that kasi swag mixed with his one of kind kasi flow not many emcee's uphold that authenticity that is Mzansi Rap hence we say "Dankie Pro" "Dankie Sani".

SOUNDS SO STEEZY

ROC NATION AVIATOR'S

The Skullcandy Aviator headphones come with endorsement by Jay-Z's Roc Nation, and that's as close to musical greatness as they get. The stylish Roc Nation Aviator headphones reach beyond Skullcandy's tween demographic and bring a sophisticated look and detailed sound design to the mobile market. The Skullcandy Rocnation Aviators feature superb build quality, a trendy but not overstated aesthetic design, and open, detailed sound quality that will please rockers but leave bass-heads out in the cold.

These headphones are made predominately of metal and leatherette with comfy memory foam ear cushions and seem very durable.   The stitching on the inside of the headband is a nice aesthetic touch, as are the subdued logo placements - on the inside of each ear cup and on the headband near the foldable hinges.  The plastic shell on the outside is made of the same material used in sunglasses, an obvious testament to their Aviator inspired design.

BEATS BY DRE
In July 2008, Dr. Dre released his high-performance brand of headphones, Beats by Dr. Dre. The line consists of Beats Studio, a circumaural headphone, Beats Tour, an in-ear headphone, Beats Solo & Solo HD, a supra-aural headphone, Beats Spin, Heartbeats by Lady Gaga, also an in-ear headphone, and Diddy Beats.[95] The headphones are made by Monster.[96] He is also planning to release an "Aftermath Cognac and vodka" at around the same time he releases Detox.[97] For the 2009 Fall season, HP and Dr. Dre are teaming up to release Beats By Dr. Dre with the sale of all HP laptops and headsets.[98] HP and Dr. Dre announced the deal on October 9, 2009, at a press event in Santa Monica, California. The new laptop, known as HP ENVY 15 Beats limited edition, will be available for sale October 22 and be priced around R17 250.00. Besides the laptop, the PC comes with Dr. Dre's signature headphones. His main reason for creating the headsets is,
"People aren't hearing all the music.
Artists and producers work hard in the studio perfecting their sound. But people can't really hear it with normal headphones. Most headphones can't handle the bass, the detail, the dynamics. Bottom line, the music doesn't move you.
With Beats, people are going to hear what the artists hear, and listen to the music the way they should: the way I do." DR Dre
I am thorn between the two brands the "Aviators" scream swag from the get and then "Beats" are firm when it comes to quality. The question you need to ask yourself when you looking to buy headsets is, why are you buying the headsets? Are you looking for a good design? Or are you buying the quality of sound? Maybe you want both looks and quality then these two brands are where it’s at. If you seek outstanding quality sounding headsets with a slick futuristic design then the "Beats" are for you but if you looking for headsets that have outstanding steez and have relevant quality you would go for the Roc Nation Aviators. My personal opinion is, the quality of music cannot be compromised but the choice is still yours.

A QUICKIE WITH MIGUEL

Miguel is genre-defying.  And when one considers his ethnic background, as an Afro-Mexican singer, then his penchant for blending and mixing socio-cultural elements is immediately understandable.
Hailing from Los Angeles, California, Miguel’s claim to fame initially came from his songwriting and production talents.  Working behind the scenes, he has placed several tracks on Usher Raymond’s past two albums.  In addition, he contributed to Musiq Soulchild’s GRAMMY-nominated single, “IfULeave,” which featured Mary J. Blige.
Such massive successes led Miguel to release Mischief: The Mixtape, in order to whet the sonic appetite of his long-time followers. Additional singles, like “Sure Thing,” have made their rounds on the Internet as well. To date, the aforementioned single has received over four and a half million MySpace plays – validating his international appeal.

His lates single Quickie has that lazy reggae skank feel, its a sexual song about that "Hit it and Quit it" more relevant a quickie. As much as most woman wont like what the song implies and how it makes them feel like they have, for the lack of a better word "Hoe tendencies". The Chorus goes a little something like
 " I don't wanna be loved
I don't wanna be loved
I just wanna quickie
No bite marks, no scratches, and no hickeys
If you can get with that, mami come get with me
I don't wanna be loved
I don't wanna be loved
I just wanna quick fix
Up in your mix miss
Send me your wishlist
I have you addicted
So mami come with this.

The best way to describe this song is, it's naughty but nice. Most guy's are probably using it to achieve that one stand. Migeul is trully a legend in the making watch the space keep your eye's on this star.

Jocking my Steez with Siz n Scoop

Sizwe Dhlomo is living his life to the full right now, years after winning MTV base’s first ever VJ hunt in Africa. He is a multi-talented entertainer, wearing multiple hats on-screen and behind the scenes on Live, at MTV, at YFM and as a hip-hop DJ.   Hailing from KwaZulu Natal, he has conquered the big city-and then some! Known for his strong work ethic and thorough knowledge of music, especially hip-hop, Sizwe is the epitome of what one can achieve through hard work and dedication. Along with Scoop, he co-hosts Siz n Scoop on Saturday and Sunday between 9am and 12pm, The Full Clip on Thursday nights from 10pm until 12am, and champions hip hop music within South Africa. Sizwe Dhlomo presents the Hot 99 Hip Hop chart every Thursday from 9am-10am and again from 9pm-10pm.

Siyabonga Ngwekazi aka Scoop, is the is the definition of versatility and diversity. As a presenter, actor and radio host, he is a man of impeccable style and taste. Born in Port Elizabeth ,“Mbombo” as his home province calls him, was interested in the arts and in entertainment from a young age. However, growing up in a small town, the dream was too far, or so it seemed. Instead,he devoted his energy to education and sports, becoming the first black Head Boy for his primary school. As for sports, basketball was the sport of choice and as short as he was, even there he excelled, representing his country at age16 all the way up to national level. Little did he know that he would grow up to spearhead a generation with his energy, passion, style and alternative “cuteness”. Fast forward to the present where he is a seen as a taste maker, a connector, interpreter and tour guide to the streets and urban youth culture. These are not just words, they are backed up by the fact that the brand he started in 2007 with his  partner Nkosana Modise, Ama Kip Kip, has enjoyed immense success and scooped up several awards. Siya is now the winner of a GQ style award, a successful TV host, MC, brand ambassador and radio jock. He is co-host of Siz n Scoop on Saturday and Sunday from 9am-12pm and also of The Full Clip on Thursday nights from 10pm until 12am.

In my opinion these two give a voice to Hip-Hop that's arrogant and comes across as snobbish but truth is its relevant gone are the days when being a "Hip-Hop Head" was looked down on matter of fact being a head is the latest STEEZ. Scoop got the hardest of pantsula's wearing AMA KIP KIP, they are not trying to change anybody but inform everybody what it means to be a true "Hip-Hop Head". every time I tune in to them I always seem to think of Oskido and his days of B.O.P when they made that hate track on HIP-HOP culture "asi'mo state" I think at that point in time we were very well aware of the fact that we aint in the "State's" whilst some might have had the ambition to be the, some of us really did not Kat’s like Siz n Scoop are evidence that you can go from the streets of mzansi and be an international brand, asi'mo states Hip-Hop has been franchised and these two are SA's very own ambassador’s. Catch Siz n Scoop every Saturday and Sunday from 9am til noon on Yfm 99.2

THE CAN ONLY BE ONE KING!!!

Men lie, women lie, numbers don't.
Jay-Z said it and now he may or may not be wishing he hadn't.
It's official, despite the mediocrity of Tha Carter IV, Lil Wayne still managed to break Jay-Z and Kanye West's Watch The Throne iTunes record and is predicted to sell 850,000 copies in the first week.
So what does this mean for Jay-Z? And what will Lil Wayne do now that his numbers reign supreme?
As we all know, record sales aren't indicative of how good an artist is, but numbers do count in some aspect or another.
What sets Jay-Z apart from the majority of rappers is that he is a superb businessman with lucrative business ventures and solid endorsement deals.
Jay-Z said, "I'm not a businessman/I'm a business, man."
For that bar alone and along with his incredible music, Jay-Z has been able to claim the throne as one of the best rappers alive.
If Lil Wayne wants to legitimately take and uphold the title of the "best rapper alive," he needs to become a real business, man.
Just being a rapper this day and age is almost laughable. The music industry and record sales have been hurt tremendously due to the digital age, so the most successful artists have ventured beyond the music to stay relevant and to remain on top.
It's all about brand building.
Yes, Lil Wayne is the CEO of Young Money, and yes, he receives cuts from his artists' overall income, but that isn't enough to be rap's head honcho.
Jay-Z is the co-owner of NBA team New Jersey Nets, CEO of Roc Nation, owner of Ace Of Spades liquor company, co-director of Budweiser beer company, investor of Carol's Daughter hair products, owner of the 40/40 club, a real estate developer and he still receives profits from Rocawear after selling it for $204 million.
Lil Wayne's newest hobby is skateboarding and since he has a younger fan base than Jay-Z and Kanye West he should capitalize on it.
Lil Wayne should create a skateboard line of apparel and accessories, as well as brand himself as more than just a rapper.
Lil Wayne also learned how to play the guitar, if he were a true businessman, he'd create cool guitars for the guitar-playing music lovers.
It's obvious Lil Wayne can sell records, but he isn't a business man and to call yourself the best rapper alive, you need to get this money.
Birdman said "Wayne the best, he do the most, and he make the most money."
All of which is total bullsh*t, but as Birdman continues, he proves my point exactly.
"How can you be the best if you don't make the best money? If you're number one and ain't getting no money it don't mean nothing."
That's a good question Birdman and now that it's a proven fact that Jay-Z is crowned as Forbes Hip-Hop Cash King, Lil Wayne will have to do more than just rap.
If Lil Wayne doesn't become a smarter businessman, then he will always be the SECOND best rapper alive.
With all that said, congrats Lil Wayne for selling a tremendous amount of albums in a time when people aren't buying albums.

If Jay-Z is said to be the king of Hip-Hop, so that we all on the same page we really need to answer this not so simple question, WHAT IS HIP-HOP? The answer you will find will go along these lines,
Hip-hop is a cultural movement, best known for its impact on music in the form of the musical genre of the same name. It has its origins in the Bronx, in New York City, during the 1970s, mostly among African Americans, with some influence from the Latin American population of the area as well. The culture of hip-hop has gone from being a relatively underground style to being a major style throughout the world, and it has been commercialized and popularized, especially in the United States. The four traditional pillars of hip-hop are: DJing, rapping, breakdancing, and graffiti art. Five additional pillars are sometimes added: hip-hop fashion, beatboxing, hip-hop slang, street knowledge, and street entrepreneurship.
Hip-hop music incorporates a number of iconic elements, most notably DJing and rapping, along with things like beatboxing, sampling, and juggling beats on turntables. In early hip-hop music, DJs would loop portions of songs, highlighting the interest percussive patterns found in them, to create their own new, emergent beats. These beats were eventually coupled with a rhyming, chanting style of singing, referred to as rapping.

This brings me to my point to be crowend "King of Hip-Hop" you must be the best in the Hip-Hop business so any business outside the Hip-Hop Kingdom is nun of Hip-Hop's business the King of Hip-Hop should earn the throne solely based on Hip-Hop now lets get to the business that is Hip-Hop today.

We have to legends and they both fighting for one title its all about who is king not just any king Lil'Wayne and Jay-z are in war over who is the "King of Hip-Hop" Lil'wayne say's "he is the best rapper alive" Jay-z say's "Its no Biggy I am KING now". We all no they are the best lets see who is better.

Lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV had a grand opening, and I do mean grand opening, after selling a jaw dropping 964,000 in the first week.

Kanye West and Jay-Z's Watch the Throne not surprisingly hits #1 on next ... Album sold 436000 in its first week.

So when it comes to sales Wizzy is untouchable "the numbers dont lie"

Partners in crime

Young money is the child of Cash Money Brothers Run by Birdman Lil Waynes father hence YMCMB and they are affiliated with "We the best music group" CEO by DJ Khaled and "Maybach Music Group" Run by the Biggest Boss Rick Ross, In HIP-HOP as a collective they are unstoppable.

Jay-z does not need any affiliation his Steez alone is a force know one can touch u can say he is on his Mc Hammer "Can’t touch this" but not that he does not have affiliations he is what every artist in Def Jam aspires to be he gave us Kanye who reinvented Hip-Hop and now heading his own stable "Good Music".
